Our Mother of Consolation students attend computer classes once each week. Classes are split into two groups, allowing more individualized instruction. Kindergarten, First and Second Grades have 30 minute classes. Third and Fourth Grades are in class for 45 minutes each. Fifth through Eighth Grades have 55 minute classes. In addition to the regular classes, the computer lab is available on Mondays and Fridays for classroom use. The school also has a laptop cart, with Dell wireless laptop computers. Each classroom has a desktop unit, a projector cart with a laptop, projector, SMartboard, and a printer. The school has 3 iPad carts and one iPad mini cart. The Computer Lab is also used for after-school activities including First in Math and Journalism. Students are graded in grades 4 through 8. Children receive instruction and practice in using Word PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher. Internet-based programs are also used to prepare the students for 21st century learning. Links to some of these sites will be provided on the "links" page. The students are also taught about Internet Safety, Digital Citizenship and Cyberbullying. Throughout the year computer class work is coordinated with classroom projects.
